It’s time to plan that trip to Walt Disney World! Disney has officially announced the dates for the 2016 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is one of the most popular (and my favorite) special event of the year at Walt Disney World. It looks like Disney has added more dates this year which will hopefully help with crowding and those who’ve already booked trips for the Fall. Hit the jump for more details on the dates & for details on revised costume policies for MNSSHP.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event held at the Magic Kingdom in the Fall. This year there will be 29 party dates between September & October. Ticket prices or a sale date have not been announced yet, however last year most tickets were around $60 for adults if purchased in advanced. It is common for a party to sell out, so if you know you want to go make sure to buy your tickets early! Halloween night is usually the first date to sell out. If you haven’t read our post about MNSSHP tips or our review of MNSSHP to learn more about the party!
The dates for the party this year are
- September – 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30
- October – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31
Disney has also posted that guests over the age of 14 are discourage from wearing costumes with layers or costume props that surround the body. You also can not have props that resemble weapons. These will be subject to additional security. This does not mean that costumes are banned! Guests of all ages are still allowed to wear costumes to the party. In fact, this is the only time of the year when adults can wear costumes in the park. One of my favorite things about the party is walking around and seeing everyone’s costume and being in a different atmosphere than a normal night in the Magic Kingdom.
Last year’s entertainment will be making a return for 2016 so expect to see Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Happy HalloWishes, & the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular during the party. There will also be trick-or-treating and special meet & greets. We’ll be covering Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party as more details are released so stay tuned to Behind Magic!
