Mickey in the Paint the Night Parade

Paint The Night Parade Ending In September [UPDATED]

This will come as quite a shock to a lot of people but Disneyland has confirmed that the Paint the Night Parade at Disneyland Resort will be ending on September 5th. This coincides with the closing of the other nighttime spectaculars created for the Disneyland 60th Diamond Celebration. Paint the Night Parade, Disneyland Forever fireworks and World of Color – Celebrate in Disney’s California Adventure will all close on September 5th. This will also be when the Diamond Celebration is closing. Hit the jump for more details on the closures.

[update] — Disney has announced that Paint The Night will parade still take place during select nights during the holiday season at Disneyland Resort.

Paint the Night was created for the Diamond Celebration of Disneyland’s 60th anniversary. We just passed the 61st anniversary a few weeks ago but the park is still covered from head to toe in Diamond decorations. I thought this parade would become a permanent fixture in the park since many guests have commented that they wish it would make its way over to Florida and replace the Main Street Electrical Parade in the Magic Kingdom. Now, it seems that won’t be happening. Disney did not announce a replacement for the parade but they also announced it very quietly. They announced the closure via their Twitter @DisneylandToday. I’m sure we’ll hear more once Disney has a firm plan for a replacement in place.

Will you be sad to see Paint the Night go? I loved the parade during my recent trip to Disneyland Resort. Do you have to make one last trip to Disneyland for the parade? Leave your comments below or as always, feel free to reach out on Twitter or Facebook!
