Disney Old Fashioned

Alcohol Now Served At Magic Kingdom…Sorta

A lot of first time guests to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World are often surprised to learn that alcohol is not served in the park. This is from an edict given by Walt Disney who was afraid that people would over indulge and ruin the magic for other guests. Disneyland follows this same rule and only serves alcohol in the ultra exclusive Club 33. Well it looks like Disney has decided to slowly change these rules and is now bringing booze to four restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. Hit the jump for more details on where you can get a cocktail in the park!

It was a little known fact that you could get a glass of beer or wine at the Be Our Guest restaurant during the table service dinner. I actually did not know this until recently and I’ve never been able to have dinner at the restaurant. I’ve always gone during lunch when it is a quick service. During the holidays Disney has decided to bring alcohol to four more table service restaurants. You could consider these the higher priced restaurants in the parks so it doesn’t surprise me that Disney chose them.

  • Cinderella’s Royal Table
  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
  • Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen
  • Liberty Tree Tavern

The drinks offered at each of the restaurants will fit with its theme and be served during both lunch and dinner. Guests can not get a to go drink and Disney does not have any plans for any bars or “lounges” at these restaurants. If you’re on the Disney dining plan just remember that you can only get a non-alcoholic drink for free, so if you choose to get a more adult beverage you’ll have to pay out of pocket! I doubt that I’ll be getting a drink at these restaurants anytime soon. I’m not a huge drinker and even when I’m in the other three Walt Disney World parks I will rarely get a drink. Unless I’m eating at Carthay Circle…then I’m done for.
