As a total surprise to absolutely no one, Disney has announced that a new fireworks show will be replacing the traditional Holiday Wishes at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Both the Christmas and Halloween parties are getting revamped entertainment for this year! Hit the jump for more details on the new show.
News, Tips & Reviews of Disney World Events
This year’s round of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties kicked off last night and Disney has finally revealed what we’ll be able to snack on an buy during the party! In years past, Disney has released this info well ahead of the parties. It seems that they’re breaking with tradition and waited until the first one to show the rest of us these goodies!
Disney has been on a roll with their live stream events lately. I absolutely love these! It gives those of us the chance to watch an event that we’d otherwise miss. Of course, I’d rather experience these in person but when you live across the country that isn’t always possible. Disney has posted the highlights from their Fourth of July live stream. Check out the video after the jump.
The inaugural Epcot International Festival of the Arts is now running Fridays through Mondays until February 20th. I would classify this as a mini Food and Wine Festival. The festival definitely looks interesting and I’d love to try some of the new food! Hit the jump for more details on what you can expect during your trip to Epcot.
So the big nighttime spectacular for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a park that until now has never been open at night, debuted this past week. Jungle Book: Alive With Magic shows off the new Jungle Book movie on the lake near Everest in Animal Kingdom. Now, this is not Rivers of Light that was first announced to be the show in Animal Kingdom. Jungle Book: Alive With Magic is here for a limited time and I would think of it has a precursor to the more permanent Rivers of Light. Hit the jump to hear some reactions of the new show.
Tickets have gone on sale today for both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party & Mickey’s Verry Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World in Florida. However it looks like Disney has both raised ticket prices across the board and introduced a more complicated pricing structure. This can mean that an event which was already pretty expensive to begin with might now be out of many guests budgets. Hit the jump for details on what you can expect to pay and for any discounts on these tickets.
Hot on the heels of announcing the dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party it looks like Disney has announced the dates for their annual Christmas party in the Magic Kingdom. They seem to have announced these dates in a more low key manner (probably to not draw away attention from the Halloween party since that’s coming up sooner!). I actually can’t find the announcement on my usual sources, but Disney did in fact release these dates. Hit the jump for more on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
It’s time to plan that trip to Walt Disney World! Disney has officially announced the dates for the 2016 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is one of the most popular (and my favorite) special event of the year at Walt Disney World. It looks like Disney has added more dates this year which will hopefully help with crowding and those who’ve already booked trips for the Fall. Hit the jump for more details on the dates & for details on revised costume policies for MNSSHP.
Disney has announced the dates for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for 2016 and they’re good news! It looks like Food & Wine will be extended by two more weeks this year. The festival will run from September 14 – November 14 2016. If you’re a foodie & you’ve never been to the festival then you really need to get yourself to Epcot this Fall. With the additional days there’s no excuse! Stay tuned to Behind Magic for more coverage of Food & Wine as we get closer to the festival.

After twenty years of dazzling guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studio the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights unfortunately drew to a close last night. Hollywood Studios was packed for the event. In fact so many guests showed up that the Hollywood Studios parking lot reached capacity & guests were being redirected to Animal Kingdom where they were bussed back to Hollywood Studios. Disney of course sent the display off with a fitting tribute! Checkout the jump for a video of the very last song from the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.
