As the D23 Expo kicks off Disney has announced that a new attraction will be coming to Epcot in Walt Disney World as part of the park’s refresh. Moana will be getting her first Disney Parks attraction in the park! Details of Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.” are sparse but Disney has provided a few details on what to expect.
With all the changes that are coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World in Florida, it was widely expected that the current logo for the park would see a refresh. As part of the kick off of the D-23 Expo in Anaheim California, Disney announced that Epcot will indeed be getting an updated logo.
More Pixar news has been announced at the Disney Parks and Resort panel at D23 Expo. The area known as Paradise Pier will be getting a makeover and will become Pixar Pier. It looks like they will be keeping that boardwalk look but will create new “immersive” events for guests.
Two new major attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ratatouille, have been announced for Epcot. These were rumored to be coming and were officially announced during Disney’s Parks and Resorts panel at D23. Guardians of the Galaxy will be in Future World, while Ratatouille will be in the France pavilion.
Disney has just announced that Shanghai Disneyland’s most popular attraction the TRON Light Cycles will be coming to Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom! The park will be getting a slight expansion to accommodate the new attraction. More details after the jump.
Well, there goes one of my all time favorite attractions at Walt Disney World…Disney has announced that the Great Movie Ride will be closing to make way for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway based on the Disney Channel shorts. Disney is giving us our first look at the Star Wars Land which is currently under construction at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. They have revealed a model of the new land at the D23 Expo. Check out the video after the jump.
Disney has released some details about the new version of Soarin’ which will be coming to both Epcot in Walt Disney World & Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort. This is an extremely popular attraction in both Epcot & DCA, and it’s on my must-do list every time I’m at a Disney park. During Disney’s D23 Parks & Resort panel they announced that Star Tours would be getting an expansion! Details are still scarce at the moment, but the attraction will feature locations, character & events from the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens. Star Tours is already an attraction that I feel you have to ride multiple times to get the full experience since it features 50 different experiences! With this expansion that means you’ll be riding it even more times during your visit to Hollywood Studios. The new Star Tours experience is expected to be open later this year.
Continuing with big announcements during their Parks & Resorts panel at D23 Disney just revealed new details for Avatar Land. The land’s official name is Pandora – The World of AVATAR. We’ve reported previously on construction progress of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This will be the biggest expansion done at Animal Kingdom & it’s set to feature several new attractions including a new nighttime spectacular. Hit the jump for more details.
