This year’s round of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties kicked off last night and Disney has finally revealed what we’ll be able to snack on an buy during the party! In years past, Disney has released this info well ahead of the parties. It seems that they’re breaking with tradition and waited until the first one to show the rest of us these goodies!
The Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen is a table service restaurant located in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. The restaurant is themed after the popular and classic Disney attraction, The Jungle Cruise. Located in Adventureland it’s one of Disney World newest restaurants, but is it any good? Up until now, those who wished to enjoy an “adult beverage” while at Disney World had to pay for them out of pocket. The Disney Dining Plan only covered non-alcoholic drinks. Well starting in 2018 this will be changing! Guests will now be able to use their dining credits for beer, wine & cocktails. Hit the jump for more details.
After using the Quick Service restaurants in Pandora – The World of Avatar as a test bed, Disney will be expanding the newly added Mobile Order service to select Magic Kingdom restaurants. This mobile ordering service allows guests to order their food using the My Disney Experience app and simply tap a “I’m here” button at the restaurant to skip the line. If you’ve ever walked into a Quick Service restaurant in any of the Walt Disney World theme parks you’ll know they can get quite busy and crowded. Disney is expanding their technology capabilities to hopefully help with that problem. Now that guests are able to enter Main Street USA and the Hub at Magic Kingdom an hour before the park officially opens Disney has announced some new breakfast options coming to Casey’s Corner and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Quick Service breakfast is one of the things that I don’t really like about Disney food. I usually prefer to grab breakfast at my resort or a table service restaurant. The Disney dining plan is something that divides Disney fans. There are staunch supporters saying it makes things easier and is cost effective while others say it overly complicates things and is not the bargain it’s made out to be. I like the dining plan. I think it can be a bit expensive but it’s nice to have all your meals paid for before leaving on vacation and I don’t think it’s a complicated system at all. The dining plan has traditionally only been offered to guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort. Now Disney is doing a test where guests can purchase a single day dining plan for the Magic Kingdom. Is this a good deal? Hit the jump for more details.
A lot of first time guests to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World are often surprised to learn that alcohol is not served in the park. This is from an edict given by Walt Disney who was afraid that people would over indulge and ruin the magic for other guests. Disneyland follows this same rule and only serves alcohol in the ultra exclusive Club 33. Well it looks like Disney has decided to slowly change these rules and is now bringing booze to four restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. Disney has announced the dates for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for 2016 and they’re good news! It looks like Food & Wine will be extended by two more weeks this year. The festival will run from September 14 – November 14 2016. If you’re a foodie & you’ve never been to the festival then you really need to get yourself to Epcot this Fall. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant should seem familiar to fans of Lady & The Tramp. It’s where the duo had their iconic spaghetti kiss! The real restaurant is located in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. It’s in Town Square which is the first part of the park you enter. Even though it’s a big restaurant it can be somewhat hidden. I didn’t even know where it was until I had booked the reservation! I guess that’s the beauty of the theming at Disney World.
