The construction of the newest transportation option for Walt Disney World guests is going strong. The Skyliner will give guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach or Riviera resorts with a unique way to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Construction of Star Wars Galaxy Edge is well underway at both Disneyland Resort and Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. We finally know when guests will be able to shrink down to the size of a toy and head into Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Disney has announced that the new land will open on June 30, 2018. There were rumors that Toy Story Land would open in late May, I’m actually stopping by Disney in May but sadly I’ll have to wait for Toy Story Land! Disney is starting to talk about specifics for the new Toy Story Land that is currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new Quick Service restaurant, Woody’s Lunchbox has been announced. More details after the jump.
In a time where everything seems to be closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios a new part of the park has finally opened! Grand Avenue is in part of the now gone Streets of America. Disney has announced that all Walt Disney World parks will be closing Saturday evening with hopes of re-opening on Tuesday morning. The resorts will remain open to house guests currently at Disney World. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be completely closing since guest accommodations can not withstand hurricane force winds. The first ride vehicle for Slinky Dog Dash, the Toy Story themed roller coaster being built at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has arrived at the park! Disney unveiled the new ride vehicle on “National Slinky Day”. The track for the attraction is complete and now the ride vehicles are starting to arrive. Well, there goes one of my all time favorite attractions at Walt Disney World…Disney has announced that the Great Movie Ride will be closing to make way for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway based on the Disney Channel shorts. Up until now, those who wished to enjoy an “adult beverage” while at Disney World had to pay for them out of pocket. The Disney Dining Plan only covered non-alcoholic drinks. Well starting in 2018 this will be changing! Guests will now be able to use their dining credits for beer, wine & cocktails. Hit the jump for more details.
