How many times have you walked up to the entrance of one of the four Walt Disney World parks, scope out all the MagicBand turnstiles trying to pick out the fastest line only to get stuck behind someone with a MagicBand issue or confusion on the entrance process. Well, Walt Disney World Passholders will not have to worry about this for the upcoming busy holiday period! Disney has announced that passholders will be getting their own entrance at each of the parks! More details after the jump.

Disney World is usually safe from hurricanes since it is inland and Florida has been lucky to avoid a major storm for years. Unfortunately hurricane Matthew is looking to change that. At the time of this writing hurricane Matthew has strengthened to a category 4 and is expected to make landfall in Florida as soon as Thursday night. Orlando is under a hurricane warning and Florida has declared a state of emergency. Walt Disney World is obviously taking precautions to ensure guest safety. Hit the jump for details on what Disney is doing during hurricane Matthew and how it can impact your travel plans if you’re in Walt Disney World or coming later this week.
Disney has put out a pretty cool video showing what it’s like to actually be in the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida. This parade will be ending soon and a more updated “Paint The Night” style parade is rumored to be replacing it. Hit the jump to see the video!
Disney has announced that another popular and celebrated night time parade will be ending its run at Walt Disney World in Florida. The Main Street Electrical Parade will be leaving the Magic Kingdom later this year and then making a pit stop on the other side of the country for a limited engagement. Let’s face it. Everyone has been lost at Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort at least once. These are huge places and they can certainly be overwhelming for first time visitors. I’m the “tour guide” whenever I take my family to the parks. In fact I came to realize that they weren’t paying much attention of how to get everywhere and really relied on me for that! Well now Disney has made getting around the parks and Walt Disney World a little bit easier. An update is coming to the My Disney Experience app that will feature navigation. Hit the jump for more details on what’s to come.
So you’ve decided it’s finally time to take the plunge. You’re finally going to Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland Resort in California! For a lot of people these trips can be a once in a lifetime event. Lets face it Disney trips are expensive often requiring a year of scrimping and saving just for that week of magic. It’s important to get the most out of your trip and make memories that will last a lifetime. Let’s go over what I consider to be the biggest mistakes you can make when booking or on a Disney vacation. Hit the jump for the list and how to avoid these mistakes.
Tickets have gone on sale today for both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party & Mickey’s Verry Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World in Florida. However it looks like Disney has both raised ticket prices across the board and introduced a more complicated pricing structure. This can mean that an event which was already pretty expensive to begin with might now be out of many guests budgets. Hit the jump for details on what you can expect to pay and for any discounts on these tickets.
There’s probably one question that I get asked more than anything else. That question is “What’s your favorite, or best, attraction at [INSERT PARK NAME HERE]?” This question is very subjective but there are certain attractions that I must experience every time I’m at Walt Disney World in Florida. Since this seems to be a popular question I decided it would be a good idea to put my answer here on the site! Check out my full list after the jump!
Hot on the heels of announcing the dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party it looks like Disney has announced the dates for their annual Christmas party in the Magic Kingdom. They seem to have announced these dates in a more low key manner (probably to not draw away attention from the Halloween party since that’s coming up sooner!). I actually can’t find the announcement on my usual sources, but Disney did in fact release these dates. Hit the jump for more on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
It looks like Disney is changing the FastPass+ lineup yet again. They’ve announced that fireworks & parades will no longer have FastPasses at the Magic Kingdom. This comes after Disney built a dedicated FastPass viewing area in the redesigned hub. I’ve always considered these FastPasses to be a bad bet since it meant you couldn’t get any additional FastPasses at kiosks since you had a FastPass tied up for Wishes.
I can see Disney using the area in the hub for desert parties or other separately ticketed events. Also this means that Disney won’t need to dedicate cast members to this area which in turn will save them money. Disney has been making cuts across all Walt Disney World & Disneyland Resort lately. I’d assume this is just part of those cuts.
