As a total surprise to absolutely no one, Disney has announced that a new fireworks show will be replacing the traditional Holiday Wishes at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This year’s round of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties kicked off last night and Disney has finally revealed what we’ll be able to snack on an buy during the party! In years past, Disney has released this info well ahead of the parties. It seems that they’re breaking with tradition and waited until the first one to show the rest of us these goodies!
Disney’s Magical Express is usually the first taste of Disney that most guests get upon arrival at Orlando International Airport. The bus transportation system from the airport to Disney resorts is extremely popular and definitely has an iconic look. Disney has announced that they will be redesigning the buses to be similar to those used for the Disney Cruise Line.
Hurricane Irma is expected to impact the entire state of Florida. Disney has begun announcing the precautions they’re taking to handle the storm. Unfortunately, they have decided to cancel the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be cancelled. Irma will likely already be over Florida by this time so, I certainly don’t blame Disney. It seems like we’re reporting on hurricane’s more and more as the years go on! Last year, Disney World was hit by Hurricane Matthew, this year it looks like Hurricane Irma will be impacting the Walt Disney World area. As of Thursday morning this is one of the largest hurricanes in recorded history. It is also one of the most powerful ever in the Atlantic. The “cone of uncertainty” currently shows the entire state of Florida in the hurricane’s path. Hit the jump for more details, we’ll also keep this post updated as more information comes in.
Well, there goes one of my all time favorite attractions at Walt Disney World…Disney has announced that the Great Movie Ride will be closing to make way for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway based on the Disney Channel shorts. While I’m all for change at the parks this one hits home for me. More details after the jump.
Wishes is gone and Happily Ever After is in! The new nighttime spectacular fireworks show debuted last week to huge crowds at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The Disney Parks blog was kind enough to stream the debut show for those of us who couldn’t make it to the parks. Watch a replay of the full show after the jump!
Like clockwork Disney has made tickets available for both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Also, as a surprise to no one prices have gone up again. This year the cheapest ticket for the Halloween party is $74 and $89 for the Christmas party. Most nights are in the $90s for both parties. Hit the jump for details on the dates for both parties.
Disney is in prep mode for Happily Ever After, the Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular that will be replacing Wishes. They recently released a video giving a behind the scenes look at the music recording process and the full show in rehearsal mode at Magic Kingdom. Disney Imagineers are hard at work on the new castle projection show, Happily Ever After, that is set to replace the Celebrate the Magic. Even though the current show has been around since 2012 I still think it’s awesome. The first time I saw Cinderella Castle lit up for the show was awe inspiring! I can’t wait for the updated show which is debuting on May 12th. Disney has released a video showing the behind the scenes of the projection design process.
