New Star Wars Nighttime Spectacular Coming to Hollywood Studios

Disney has announced that it’s time for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to “awake”. A new Star Wars nighttime spectacular will be coming to the park starting in the summer with other Star Wars related events starting as soon as April. This will include a new fireworks show projections on the Chinese Theater and surrounding buildings. Video | Preview of New Star Tours: The Adventures Continue Sequence

With the new Star Tours movie soon approaching Disney has finally announced when the updated Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This revamp of the attraction will most likely turn an already popular attraction into the park’s most popular attraction which I would guess would rival Toy Story Midway Mania. Star Wars Weekends No More At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

With all the construction set to begin soon & the addition of Star Wars Land on the horizon Disney has decided to axe one of Hollywood Studio’s most popular events. Star Wars weekends has been discontinued with 2015 being it’s last year. Disney is saying that since more and more Star Wars content will be coming to the parks guests will be able to enjoy the Force every day rather than a few select weekends during the year. Hopefully they will do Star Wars themed events during the year since having the entire park devoted to Star Wars was pretty cool. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what impact Star Wars Land has on the park.

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights No More After 2015

Well, we saw this one coming but I just didn’t want to believe it was so. Disney has announced that 2015 will be the last year for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is a huge blow in my opinion. Star Tours Expansion Coming As Part of Star Wars Land

During Disney’s D23 Parks & Resort panel they announced that Star Tours would be getting an expansion! Details are still scarce at the moment, but the attraction will feature locations, character & events from the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens. Star Tours is already an attraction that I feel you have to ride multiple times to get the full experience since it features 50 different experiences! With this expansion that means you’ll be riding it even more times during your visit to Hollywood Studios. The new Star Tours experience is expected to be open later this year.
